This means you’ll save a lot more money on cleaning supplies if you use what you have to get the same job done. (And who knows: you may not ever go back to using natural store-bought cleaning products again!)
Nonetheless, just having this list handy is SUPER convenient for when you’re feeling thrifty or when you need to supplement your stock if you don’t have time to run to the store.
Because all 10 of these DIY natural cleaning products are still safe enough (if not safer) for your family and pets.
The Only Ingredients You Need
Below is a list of 10 ingredients you’ll need to make all 10 of these DIY natural cleaning recipes I’m sharing with you today—most of them you probably have already in your pantry!

Here’s what you’ll need:
- Original Blue Dawn dish detergent
- White Vinegar
- Baking Soda
- Distilled Water
- Essential Oils (I like lemon, orange, lavender & especially peppermint because it’s effective against bacteria!)
- Olive Oil
- 70% Isopropyl Alcohol
These are the tools you’ll need to get the job done:
- Empty spray bottles
- Airtight containers or mason jars
- Clean microfiber cloths
- Scrub brush or sponge
10 DIY Natural Cleaning Products
1) All-purpose cleaning spray
Clean every surface in your home from your kitchen to your bathroom.
- 2 tbsp of Original Blue Dawn
- 1/4 cup of white vinegar
- water to fill
Add ingredients into a spray bottle. Shake well to mix ingredients together. Spray liberally on any surface, then wipe clean with a damp cloth.
2) All-purpose disinfectant spray
Many store-bought disinfectant sprays have been linked to causing cancer and lung illnesses. This is a homemade “Lysol” recipe that uses essential oils disinfect, deodorize, and sanitize—and it’s non-toxic!
Pour all ingredients into a spray bottle. Shake well to combine. Spray on any surface you want to disinfect (be careful spraying anything alcohol could destroy) and allow to sit for 5-10 minutes. Wipe away with a dry or slightly damp cloth.
3) Glass cleaner
You’ll be able to remove fingerprints, water spots, dirt & grime easily from windows, glass, or mirrors with a sparkly, spot-free finish. The secret ingredient that makes this DIY natural cleaning product streak-free is the cornstarch!
- 1/2 cup white vinegar
- 1/2 cup rubbing alcohol
- 1 tbsp cornstarch
- 10 drops essential oil
Pour ingredients into a glass spray bottle. Attach spray top and shake to mix well. Be sure to shake before each use and spray liberally on windows, mirrors, or glass. Wipe the glass with a microfiber cloth until the surface is clean and shiny.
4) Daily Shower Cleaner
This scrub-free natural cleaning product will easily get rid of hard water stains and soap scum with little-to-no effort.
- 10 oz Original Blue Dawn
- 18 oz white vinegar
- 30 drops essential oil for fragrance (optional)
Add all ingredients into a 28 oz spray bottle. Shake to combine well. Spray on shower walls or tub to cover the area fully. Then allow it to sit for 30 minutes. Wipe clean with a damp sponge (or squeegee for shower doors) and rinse.
5) Toilet bowl cleaner
An easy DIY natural cleaning solution you can use to clean the inside of your toilet bowl.
- 1 cup baking soda
- 1 cup white vinegar
- 10 drops essential oil (optional)
Pour baking soda, then slowly pour in vinegar covering as much of the bowl as possible. Then add essential oil. The baking soda will react with the vinegar which is normal. Use your toilet scrub brush to remove water stains and rings and flush.
6) Dust Spray
Shine and protect your surfaces (even wood!) with this easy DIY natural cleaning spray.
- 1 cup distilled water
- 1/4 white vinegar
- 2 tsp olive oil
- 10-15 drops Lemon essential oil (to smell fresh & clean!)
Add all ingredients into a glass spray bottle. Shake well to combine and use to shine wood furniture and table tops.
7) Stainless Steel Cleaner
Make your stainless steel appliances look like new again with this easy DIY natural cleaning product.
- 2 tbsp baking soda
- 1/2 white vinegar
- 2 cups warm water
Mix ingredients well in a spray bottle. Once it stops bubbling, place spray cap on top and spray on a stainless steel surface. Wipe clean & dry with a microfiber cloth.
8) Dishwasher Detergent
This homemade dishwasher detergent will have you stop buying expensive pods at the store. And your dishes will come out squeaky clean!
- 1 cup baking soda
- 1 cup borax
- 1/2 salt
- white vinegar (add to rinse compartment)
Add all three ingredients into a bowl. Mix well and store inside a glass container with an airtight lid. When your ready to use, add 1 tbsp to each of the 2 compartments in your dishwasher, then add 2 tbsp of white vinegar to your rinse compartment.
9) Carpet Freshener
Deodorize your carpet while keeping your small children and pets safe.
- 2 cups baking soda
- 30 drops lavender essential oil (safe for crawling babies)
Combine baking soda and essential oil in a mason jar. Secure lid and shake well. Apply liberally to carpet and wait at least 1-2 hours before vacuuming. Then vacuum thoroughly (making 1-2 passes).
10) Fabric Softener
Not only will this DIY natural cleaning product leave your laundry & linens feeling soft, but it will also remove musty odors from your clothes.
- 1/4 cup white vinegar for small & medium load
- 1/2 cup white vinegar for large loads
- 15-30 drops essential oil (optional)
Simply add the appropriate amount of white vinegar (based on the size of your load) and your favorite essential oil to the fabric softener compartment of your washer, then let it run.
